Call For Abstracts

​​​​​​​​​​​​​You are invited to submit abstracts of policy briefs that offer evidence-based policy recommendations for G20 leaders and other​ government officials involved in the G20 Saudi Arabia process.

Abstracts must focus on policy areas covered by T20 Saudi Arabia's task forces:

Task Force 1: Trade, investment and growth
Task Force 2: Climate change and environment
Task Force 3: Infrastructure investment and financing​
Task Force 4: Social cohesion and the state
Task Force 5: Future of multilateralism and global governance
Task Force 6: Economy, employment and education in the digital age
Task Force 7: G20 support for SDGs and development cooperation
Task Force 8: International financial architecture
Task Force 9: Migration and young societies​
Task Force 10: Sustainable energy, water and food systems



To be considered, abstracts must conform to the following format (please use this template):

  1. Task force title

  2. Title of the policy brief (up to 130 characters)

  3. Authors and affiliation. (Please name one affiliation per author only)

  4. Challenge (100-200 words): This section summarizes the problem that the policy brief addresses

  5. Proposal (200-300 words): This section summarizes evidence-based policy recommendations

  6. Relevance to the G20 (30-100 words): This s​ection explains why the G20 is a relevant forum for the policy brief

Cut-off dates and notifications​

Abstract submission deadline: Extended to January 4, 2020.

Abstract acceptance notification: January 5-10, 2020.

Draft policy brief due date: April 10, 2020 – This deadline allows for drafts to be discussed in T20-associated events near to this date.

Full policy briefs will be subject to an internal peer-review process.

Detailed guidelines for policy briefs will be sent to authors upon the acceptance of their abstracts. Examples of past T20 policy briefs can be found here​.

The policy briefs selected will be published on T20 Saudi Arabia's website. They will also serve as background material for the T20 communique. Authors of accepted abstracts are considered task force members.
